DELTA MAINLINE / SPECIAL OPERATIONS PROGRAM

Moving the fleet.
Keeping it flying.

Special Operations handles two types of virtual Mainline flights: aircraft deliveries into the fleet and maintenance ferry flights to designated maintenance bases. We do not operate a separate repositioning-flight program or track aircraft locations.

DELTA MAINLINE / AIRCRAFT MOVEMENTS

Two missions. Fleet support.

Special Operations offers delivery and maintenance ferry assignments only. Aircraft locations will not be tracked, and there is no separate repositioning program.

01 / AIRCRAFT DELIVERY

Delivery flights

Move an aircraft into the DVA fleet from its designated delivery or acceptance location to an assigned base or entry-into-service location. The assignment will identify the aircraft, route and destination.

FLEET INTRODUCTION
02 / MAINTENANCE FERRY

Maintenance ferry flights

Transfer an aircraft to a designated maintenance base for inspections, scheduled servicing or repairs. A mission may be issued only when the aircraft is authorized to make the ferry movement in the simulation.

DESTINATION / MAINTENANCE BASE
PLANNED SPECIAL OPERATIONS WORKFLOW

From fleet request to completed movement.

Assignments will identify the exact airframe and movement purpose. The booking, tracking and completion systems are still in development.

01

Create the movement

Staff issue a delivery or maintenance ferry assignment with the aircraft type, origin, destination, and mission reason. An internal tail may be associated without requiring the pilot to choose it.

02

Check aircraft and pilot

Check fleet maintenance availability and movement restrictions, plus the pilot's aircraft-type qualification.

03

Complete the flight

Fly the assigned route under the approved virtual flight release. Maintenance ferry flights must terminate at the designated maintenance base.

04

Close the assignment

Submit the flight report for review. Staff may update delivery or maintenance records, but aircraft locations will not be recorded.

AIRCRAFT / PILOT / MAINTENANCE STATUS

Aircraft movement requirements.

Special Operations is limited to delivery and maintenance ferry assignments. Pilots use their existing DVA Mainline account and qualify by aircraft type, without choosing a specific registration.

Staff publish the departure airport, arrival airport, aircraft type and purpose. Internal registration tracking is optional and used for fleet maintenance, not aircraft positioning. Maintenance ferries travel to designated maintenance bases.

  • One shared DVA pilot identity, seniority record and logbook.
  • Approved delivery or maintenance ferry assignment.
  • Aircraft-type qualification and any applicable ferry restrictions.
  • Delivery airport or maintenance destination specified in the release.
  • Maintenance ferry flights must go to a designated maintenance base.
  • Flight-report review before hours or any maintenance record changes.
Independent simulation notice. DVA is an unofficial flight-simulation community and is not affiliated with, endorsed, or operated by Delta Air Lines or its regional partners. Both fleet-support mission categories are planned features; pilot booking is not yet available.
